Proud father and husband. I know every dad says, "Proud Father", but my kids (5 yrs and 2 yrs) can both do split fans. Now that's proud.

Before Ellusionist, I day-traded curreny futures for a living and have the gray hairs to prove it. Was an IT Director for 7 years and have the scars to prove that too. Before that, it was a blur of college, drag racing, bartending, airbrushing, and cartooning. I watch "The Big Lebowski" more than I care to admit and I usually have a Beatles / Grateful Dead / Zeppelin mix playing 24 hours a day.

Favorite Projects

1) Arcane deck. Soon to reach the light of day. I had a dream back in late 2004 of an idea for an Ace of Spades. I immediately woke up in the middle of the night and sketched it out because it always gets forgotten by morning. That sketch is hanging in my office right now. From that sketch the idea has grown and evolved into a concept that Brad and I have been developing for over 5 years. They have evolved into something unique and utterly elegant far beyond what I thought they might have looked like at the time I woke up and started sketching that night....

2) Shadowmasters deck. I can remember many, many 3 A.M. nights with my newborn daughter in one arm and a digital artpad in the other. As my daughter would doze back to sleep with a bottle in my arms, I would be feverishly airbrushing shadows and textures onto those cards, one by one. Great memories.

3) Kard Klub. Nowhere have I seen any training material cover 2 hours worth of real-world work on one simple card trick. This was the DVD that made me realize I was in a special place at E. (2 Card monte is still my opener)
